Onsite Wastewater Inspections for Rural Franklin

Many rural properties around Franklin, Pukekohe, Mauku, Glenbrook, Bombay, Patumahoe, Waiuku, and surrounding areas rely on onsite wastewater systems rather than mains sewer.

A septic inspection can help identify obvious issues early, check visible components, review the disposal area, and provide a simple written report with photos. It's a practical step for anyone buying, selling, or maintaining a rural property.

We currently inspect conventional septic tank systems only. If you're unsure what type of system you have, give us a call and we can advise.

FAQs

Common Questions About Septic Inspections

How much does a septic tank inspection cost in Pukekohe?+
Give us a call on 021 951 121 for pricing and to confirm availability. Our conventional septic tank inspections include a written summary and photos.
What do you actually check in a septic inspection?+
We check the visible tank components, lid and access points, outlet and filter (where accessible), the drainage and disposal field, and look for any signs of leakage, ponding, or failure. You get a written summary with photos and practical notes.
Do I need a septic inspection before buying a rural property?+
It's strongly advisable. A conventional septic inspection gives you an independent view of the system's visible condition before you commit. We can often book quickly to fit property purchase timeframes โ€” call us to discuss.
What types of septic systems do you inspect?+
We inspect conventional septic tank systems only โ€” single-chamber or two-chamber tanks discharging to a drainage field. We don't currently service advanced aerated wastewater treatment plants (such as Orenco or Ecoflow systems) unless agreed beforehand.
How long does a septic inspection take?+
Most inspections take 30โ€“60 minutes on-site. The written report with photos is sent within 48 hours.
Will you dig up or pump out the tank as part of the inspection?+
No โ€” our inspections are visual only. If your system needs pumping or excavation, we'll note that in the report and you can arrange that separately. We can recommend trusted local liquid waste contractors if needed.
My septic tank is near a waterway โ€” is that a problem?+
It can be. One of the key things we check is whether there are visible signs of effluent reaching waterways or surface water. If we see anything concerning, we'll note it clearly in the report with photos.
Do you cover Clevedon, Pokeno, or Tuakau?+
Our main inspection area is the Franklin district โ€” Pukekohe, Waiuku, Glenbrook, Patumahoe, Mauku, Bombay, Karaka, and surrounding rural areas. Locations like Clevedon, Pokeno, and Tuakau are considered case by case โ€” just give us a call.

Important Note

We currently inspect conventional septic tank systems only. We do not currently service or certify advanced aerated wastewater treatment plants unless agreed beforehand. Inspection findings are based on visible and safely accessible components at the time of inspection. If your system requires specialist assessment, certification, or council compliance work, we will advise you accordingly.
